MISSION : Providing world class infrastructure and services through the employment of motivated personnel and leading edge technology for the benefit of the citizens and investors.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND : The history of this Ministry dates back to 1967 when the State was created. It is considered as an engine room of growth and development of the State, due to its strategic importance.

In view of the dynamic nature of its duties and responsibilities, the Ministry’s nomenclature was re-engineered by the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration when it was re- named Ministry of Works and Infrastructure with effect from 30th April, 2003, consisting of two offices:

· Office of Works

· Office of Infrastructure

At the coming on board of the Akinwunmi Ambode administration in 2015, the ministry was taken back to its former status as Ministry of Works and Infrastructure.

 

The parastatals under the supervision of monitoring of the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure are:

PARASTATALS

· Public Works Corporation (PWC)

· Materials Testing Laboratory,

· Lagos State Infrastructure Asset Management Agency

· Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA)
