Ministry of Works & Infrastructure – Lagos State Government
Engr. DARAMOLA Olufemi Olubunmi was born in Lagos on the 20th of April, 1970.
He holds a B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Lagos, Akoka and was employed into the Lagos State Civil Service in 1995.
He is a consummate Civil Engineer with over 27 years of experience spanning across various Ministries and agencies within the Lagos State Civil Service. These include the Lagos State Public Works Corporation where he was a Road Maintenance Engineer and later became Head, Asphalt Production Plant at Ojodu.
He also served at the Ministry of Transportation where he was actively involved in various transportation and traffic management projects such as Junction Improvements resulting in the easing of traffic within the metropolis.
At the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, he was part of various engineering teams supervising critical road infrastructural projects across the state which includes drainage and bridges works. He ultimately served as the Director Road Construction Department within the ministry from July 2016 and June, 2019.
In June 2019, he was appointed as the General Manger, Lagos State Public Works Corporation by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and in recognition of his outstanding performance and dedication to service delivery such as:
- Maintenance & Rehabilitation of 848 roads since the beginning of this administration;
- Production and deployment of Cold Mix Asphalt which is used as an alternative during the wet season, amongst others.
- Reactivation of non-functional road maintenance equipment in the Corporation.
- Procurement of Project Vehicles and Protective Personal Equipment for Engineers on site
- Re-automation/computerization of Ojodu Asphalt Plant
He was on 14th Sep, 2021, appointed as the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Public Works Corporation and on 31st Jan, 2022, he was deployed to Office of Infrastructure in Ministry of Works & Infrastructure.
He’s a member of various professional bodies; a Fellow of the Nigeria Institution for Civil Engineers (FNICE), a Fellow of the Nigeria Society of Engineers (FNSE) and member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
Engineer Daramola is happily married with children.
His hobbies are: Reading, table tennis and squash.
