SPECIAL ADVISER TO THE GOVERNOR PARLEYS PROJECT STAFF

As part of efforts to ensure that the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, continued the tradition of delivering efficient and qualitative service through a committed and professionally viable workforce, the Special Adviser to the Governor, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure Adekunle Olayinka, has met with the Project Officers of both the Office of Works and the Office of Infrastructure

The meeting which took place at the Folarin Coker Staff Clinic conference room was the first of its kind in the annals of the Ministry. and was well attended by the project officers ranging from Engineers, Architects, Builders, Quantity Surveyors and a host of professionals handling different projects in the state.

Speaking during the meeting, the Special Adviser to the Governor, said the all-inclusive meeting is “a  Family Meeting ” and ‘  was aimed at charging project officers to step up and be accountable to be able to deliver on the various projects within the stipulated schedule failure which can be counterproductive,which according to him is not good for the business of governance.”

Olayinka further urges staffers to face squarely the task of contributing their quota to make Lagos greater than it is at the moment. ” We as professionals in various fields are the ones showcasing the Ministry in whatever work we churn out, hence we must put in our best to put good quality jobs out there, you are our representative so you must showcase quality in handling projects,” he said.

On Quality Control and Quality Assurance (QA/QC) the Special Adviser said that It will not be business as usual especially for officers who lag in the discharge of their statutory duties, ” Going forward certain laxity will no longer be condoned as it is greatly impactingour KPI and in the override discharge of our duties, please let us all abide by our Standard Operating Policies which will help us in the delivery of our project as at when due and in accepted standards “.

He further enjoined the Project Officersl to Cooperate with their bosses for maximum output and to always ensure follow-up on assigned projects to see them to completion” Let us work smart as we claim and work together as a family to achieve the T.H.E.M.E + agenda of this administration. 

Speaking also the Permanent Secretary Office of Works Arch. Adebayo Odusanya advised the officers on their total commitment to the duties assigned to them to achieve the desired result.

The Permanent Secretary Office of Infrastructure, Engr. Olufemi Daramola encouraged all project staff not to relent on their efforts as it is the custom of the Office, but to keep trudging on to achieve the desired aim of a Lagos with sustainable Infrastructure. 

The meeting ended with all the professionals pledging allegiance to the Ministry and Lagos State Government at large.
